Stanislas Wawrinka

Stanislav has come on in Tennis terms in 'leaps and bounds' over the last three years. IN that time he was won one ATP Tour Title and been runner-up in five others. As a result he has shot up the World rankings and currently sits in tenth spot. He is probably the most improved player in the world in 2008. His most recent final was against world number three, Novak Djokovic in the ATP Masters in Rome. Although losing in a three set and closely fought final, Stanislav put out several notable names in the process.He prefers the european clay courts to any other surface, but is improving all ther time to meet the requirements of International tennis and that of the US Open Bet.

He is the sec ond Swis player to make the top ten, the other being world number one Roger Federer, who is also Stanislav's hero and who's playing style he tries to emulate.

Wawrinka went out very disappointingly in the third round at the French Open against Fernando Gonzalez, after being two sets and 3-0 up. He went out in the 4th round at Wimbledon to Marat Safin.
