US Open Womens Odds
The women’s odds this year's womens singles, are considerably more open, now with the first round over the betting still has Serena Williams as clear favourite at a best price of 7/2. Serena looked awesome at times during her match with Kateryna Bondarenko and she ran out a 6-1, 6-4 winner. Sister Venus, also looked very impressive winning in straight sets against, Australian, Samantha Stosir. Number one seed, Ana Ivanovic did not look anywhere near as convincing, she went through after a dropping a set to Vera Deshevina and looked to be very short of confidence. The top 9 seeds all went through, but the womens tournament said goodbye to five of the 32 seeds named. They were Anna Chakvatadze (10), Daniela Hantchokova (11), Maria Kirilenko (22), Shahar Peer (24) and Virginia Razzano (31). Serena Williams will be where the smart money goes, she now plays Elena Vesnina and as long as there are no setbacks with a reported knee injury she should get through comfortably. She is clearly the player they all fear at this tournament and is showing the form that could quite easily win her the crown. She actually may fear her sister the most, Venus is also playing at the top of her game and got the better of Serena in Wimbledon Final last month.
