Nikolay Davydenko

Russian, Nikolay Davydenko is ranked fifth in the World in the ATP rankings and is also ranked fifth in the ATP Tour race. Three of the four players above him on both lists, are the three icons of men’s tennis, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. These are three obstacles that Davydenko needs to remove if he is going to win here and to get to the top of the game.

He has reached the semi-finals here at the US Open on the last two occasions, losing both times to Federer in straight sets.

He has a very aggressive baseline game using hard penetrating ground strokes on both flanks of the court. He is technically proficient on the forehand and the backhand and he hits the ball very early to maximise his power. His groundstroke’s resemble that of Andre Agassi. Have a look at his US Open Odds

Probably unfairly, Davydenko, has been accused of ‘losing his bottle’ at crunch points against the top players. He has often lost sets when having the advantage. This year at the French Open, he lost in five sets in the third round after being two sets to nil up. His poor form continued at Wimbledon, where he went out tamely in straight sets in the very first round.

He has won a total of twelve ATP ranking Tournaments and has been a runner-up further three times. US Open Free Bet Offer
